2016 Nelles Pinot Madeleine early Burgundy dry

Product description

The blue Frühburgunder is a descendant (mutation) of the blue Spätburgunder and is one of the oldest European vines. Today, the cultivation is limited to German viticulture and is stocked with 250 ha, of which 35 ha are in the Ahr valley.
The very low and uncertain yields do not allow an economic cultivation. However, since we would like to preserve this old variety for the next generations because of its special character, the Frühburgunder is cultivated in our winery. The
Frühburgunder always brings us colour-intensive, strong, expressive wines with a velvety character. It is the feminine type, whereas the Spätburgunder shows more of the masculine side. Classic ageing in old wooden barrels. Accompanies game, braised meat and wild mushrooms.
