1AHR: Right from his first vintage, Philip Nelles has succeeded in creating a truly prototypical Ahr Pinot Noir: medium ruby red with violet highlights.
On the nose, a fresh, lively blend of cassis, cherry, and herbs. On the palate, it has everything such a wine needs: power, structure, a fine tannic framework, and fruity sweetness.
Despite its 14% ABV, this is not a heavy wine; rather, it displays finesse, making it ideal for connoisseurs of elegance. This is what makes regional wine a pleasure. (Mario Scheuermann)
